A Silent Film Experience
Travel back to the days of silent films when live musical accompaniment enhanced the experience for moviegoers. Students from Noteable Notes will provide the musical accompaniment as this movie is presented in the JRC Oak Room. Don’t miss this one of a kind experience.

This is a parent/child class.
Enjoy one-on-one time with your child in a setting that includes climbing, crawling, jumping, balls, parachutes and moving to music. Parental interaction helps your child develop both motor and social skills. Please wear comfortable clothes; no snaps, jeans or overalls.

Experience the sport of gymnastics with your tot while also creating lasting memories! Play with your child to help them develop their gross motor and social skills, while also developing their coordination and body awareness. Tots will be introduced to a minimal amount of structured activity with your assistance, but the class will primarily be an open play environment. Class attire: athletic pants, shorts/shirts or leotard/shorts. No jeans, snaps or zippered shirts.

Sing, dance, play, learn, and imagine with us! This movement-based program uses music to facilitate learning. Activities include use of rhythm instruments and movement props, work on gross and fine motor skills, including balance and coordination, and engagement of imaginative play. All classes are structured and include early listening and following directions skills. Join us for a rockin’ good time!
Class requires parent participation

This class is perfect for kids who are full of energy and ready to be introduced to the basics of
soccer and t-ball. Socialization, teamwork, following directions, key motor skills and having fun
will be the focus in this non-competitive environment. About half of the time will be dedicated to
each sport. Parent participation is welcomed. ~Games will be played at the end of each class.

Young children develop motor skills while having fun running and ball handling. Parents and tots work together in this class to learn the basics of basketball. Dribbling, passing, shooting, and teamwork will be emphasized. A variety of activities will be played each week.

The Lil Dribblers Basketball program introduces children to the game of basketball in a safe, fun, and exciting environment. Our curriculum uses age-appropriate activities and games specifically designed to increase balance, body awareness, motor skills, hand-eye coordination, listening skills and the ability to follow directions.

Come join in on the fun and start playing the nation's most loved game! Players are introduced to stance, receiving, rushing, blocking, and defense. Generally, each class ends with a scrimmage, which encourages teamwork and sportsmanship. Games focus on fundamentals, field concepts, positions, and mechanics. Players get to play either receiver or running back each week. No equipment necessary!

Players experience daily scrimmages with active instruction and tips from the coaching staff. Players are encouraged to employ skills used in football such as running pass routes, play calling, defensive positioning, the fundamentals of blocking and pass coverage. These skills and others will be put to use in a "game time" environment while players scrimmage each week.

Sullivan's Karate offers both mental and physical benefits. Physical strength, speed, agility, and coordination are developed along with self-confidence, respect, and a positive self-image. A1 is for Beginners (white belts), A2 is for Intermediate (yellow and green belts), and A3 is for Advanced (blue belts and above).

This introductory class is designed to captivate the interests of our youngest students. Skills are developed through gentle instruction and games!

This program helps kids develop conditioning, coordination, listening skills, and self-confidence through creative activities. Here students learn the fundamental skills of Taekwondo. This class is intended for White - Orange Belts who are 6 years of age and older.

This program includes a balanced cardiovascular workout including punching, kicking, and blocking skills using Taekwondo, tradition and self-control. Participants will improve coordination, power of concentration, and balance. Students begin learning the skills required to become a black belt. This class is intended for Green Belts to Brown Belts who are at least 6 years of age.

Students will develop heightened focus, mental discipline, and strategic thinking, while enhancing their cardiovascular conditioning, flexibility, body control, and the beginning of mastery-level material to prepare students not only to earn their black belt, but to embody the role of a martial artist at the highest level. This class is intended for Red Belts to Black Belts who are at least 6 years of age.

NASA and Mad Science collaborate to educate the next generation! Children go on a voyage of discovery to space with unique hands-on activities and amazing demonstrations. They explore the sun and stars, space technology, rocket science, the atmosphere, planets and moons, supernovas and more! Each week will cover an exciting new topic: Atmosphere & Beyond, Sun & Stars, Living in Space, Space Travel, and Space Technology. The Bloomingdale Youth Basketball Association (YBA) is a volunteer
organization supported by the Bloomingdale Park District that
provides a comprehensive basketball program for Bloomingdale
and surrounding communities.

Starting 11/1/2023, UNIFORMS may be purchased for $40 at the JRC front desk anytime during normal business hours. Uniforms are REQUIRED and consist of a reversible jersey and matching shorts. If you have the navy blue/white reversible jersey from a previous season, you do not need to purchase a new one.

This program is ideal for kids who are ready to embark on the beautiful journey of soccer. These
mighty soccer players will start to polish their skills of dribbling, passing, shooting, and
goalkeeping. Our coaches will inculcate participants on good sportsmanship, participation, and
teamwork. This is a great class for both girls and boys! Parent participation is welcomed. ~

Hot Shots Soccer is the perfect introduction to soccer in a safe, fun, and exciting environment.

Adult/Tot Soccer (ages 2-3) will let tots learn how to kick, score a goal, and more with assistance from their parent.

Minis Soccer (ages 4-5) continues teaching basic concepts and skills with little to no parental involvement through fun mini games and simple drills.

Juniors Soccer (ages 6-8) continues to build on soccer skills and principles while challenging your soccer player with fun mini games and drills.

One of the best ways to develop your basketball skills is through game play, and in Game Time you do just that. Each week, basketball players are challenged through various games including 1-on-1, 3-on-3, and 5-on-5. Coaches referee and guide the class to enhance the players' understanding of the game.

Develop early basketball skills such as shooting, dribbling, and passing, along with the basic rules of the game. All instruction is game/drill oriented with mini games and scrimmages played every week. This class is for the basketball beginner looking to understand the game, learn new skills, and have fun!

This program for Kindergartners will help introduce your child to the sport of basketball, and help them learn and improve basic basketball fundamentals such as dribbling, shooting and passing, while also featuring game play on an 8-foot basket. Coaches focuses on fun, skill development and team play. Program takes place for 45 minutes 1-2 times per week between 5:30-8:00PM. When registering, you can indicate your preferred days of the week (either M/W or Tu/Th). All little athletes receive a T-shirt, and a participation medal or trophy.

This class offers students the basic understanding of attack and defense in fencing. Register with family members or friends to increase the fun! Additional family members can receive a 50% discount when registering together. Instructor considers the height and ability of each fencer. These classes take place at the Glendale Heights Park District.

Volleykidz is an introductory class for children ages 7-10. The lesson plan introduces the pass, set and spike using a very light volleyball. Volleykidz will improve each child’s hand/eye coordination and left/right coordination using fun drills and games. Lesson plan also incorporates short educational drills including spelling, math and science.

Improve your volleyball skills with 90 minutes of drills in setting, passing, overhand serving and spiking. The lesson plan directs the use of individual training, pairing drills and game situation development that help each student reach a new level. Instructors organize short games at the end of each class. The lesson plan also incorporates leadership and educational components.

Bring in the New Year with all your friends at the BPD. Enjoy party favors, games, music and much more. Schools Out! activities require pre-registration. Cancellations requests must be submitted within 3 business days prior, there is a $5.00 fee assessed. There are no exceptions. Events fill quickly, so register early.
