Connecting communities to creative arts--that is what we do at Innovation Arts Connection! Our progressive curriculum focuses on dance concepts and core techniques as well as teaching the importance of respect, positive attitude and hard work. In our classes students will develop grace, rhythm, coordination, creativity, and confidence in a fun, safe and structured environment. IAC’s dance classes offer stability, a sense of community, socialization and structure. We look forward to seeing you in class!

Park Studio Classes
The Park Studio program track is a studio program designed around the Park District community culture. This track is for dancers of all ages and experience levels who are looking for a progressive session and higher commitment level with participation in a final Dance Recital: Under the Sea on Saturday, June 20, 2026 at Lake Park High School. PRODUCTION FEES (INCLUDING COSTUME FEES) INCLUDED WITH TUITION!!! PAYMENT PLANS AVAILABLE!!! Within this program, participants can engage in core studio-level dance classes. All classes are held at Medinah Park District’s Connolly Recreation Center. In the event of inclement weather or Covid-19 shut downs classes will be held virtual on Zoom.

Dance I (3-5y, Preschool-Kindergarten)
Dance I is a 45 minute weekly class designed for preschool and kindergarten aged dancers. In this class we will focus on ballet technique. Classes include stretches, class etiquette, basic technique, dance concept exploration, movement games and learning choreography. Please wear leotard, tights, or comfortable form fitted clothing, ballet shoes.

Dance II (5-8y, Early Elementary 1st-3rd grade)
Dance II is a 60 minute weekly class designed for early elementary aged dancers. In this class we will continue to learn ballet technique and introduce tap technique as well. Classes include stretches, class etiquette, basic-intermediate technique in ballet & tap, dance concept exploration, movement games and learning choreography. Please wear leotard, tights, or comfortable form fitted clothing, ballet & tap shoes.

Dance III (8-10y, Upper Elementary 3rd-6th grade)
Dance III is a 90 minute weekly class designed for upper elementary aged dancers. In this class we will continue to learn ballet & tap technique and we will introduce jazz technique as well. Classes include stretches, barre work, class etiquette, basic-intermediate technique of each style, movement games and learning choreography. Please wear leotard, tights, or comfortable form fitted clothing, ballet, tap & jazz shoes.

Dance IV (10+y, Middle-High School, 6th grade+)
Dance IV is a two day a week class that meets on Mondays and Thursdays and is designed for middle-high school dancers. On Mondays dancers will do a full ballet barre, learn intermediate-advanced ballet technique and work on choreography. On Thursdays dancers will do a full strength & conditioning session, and learn beginning-advanced Jazz & Tap technique. We will also introduce some lyrical, contemporary and hip hop skills as well. This is the perfect class for older dancers looking to excel in dance in a well rounded way. Please wear leotard, tights, or comfortable form fitted clothing, ballet, tap & jazz shoes. PLEASE NOTE: MONDAYS CLASS TIME IS 7-8:30P & THURSDAYS CLASS TIME IS 8-9P

Pre-Pointe (10+y, Middle-High School, 6th grade+)
This class is an additional class dancers in Dance IV can take. In this class dancers will learn exercises to build strength, flexibility and coordination in their ankles and feet with the goal of getting pointe shoes. As dancers progress in class they will level up to wearing pointe shoes with the recommendation of their teacher and approval from their doctor. Dancers must have at least 2 years of ballet training and must be currently enrolled in Dance IV to participate. Please wear leotard, tights, or comfortable form fitted clothing and ballet shoes. *DOES NOT PARTICIPATE IN THE RECITAL

PERFORMANCE GROUPS
Dance Performance groups are designed for our current dancers to explore added performance opportunities and experience a dance team atmosphere.

Pixie Performers: Princess Ariel 3-8y
This adorable opportunity will give budding ballerinas their time to shine. The Pixies will learn a Princess Ariel routine and show off their magical moves on stage at the Annual Dance Recital on Saturday, June 20 at Lake Park High School. The Pixies will learn 1 routine and will receive one costume (included in tuition). Wear comfortable form-fitted clothing, ballet shoes. All rehearsals are held at Winfield Park District’s Recreation Center.

Musical Theatre Dance Troupe 8-15y
This group of dancers will learn musical theatre dance basics while prepping & performing a script and dance routine for the annual dance recital on Saturday, June 20 at Lake Park High School. They will experience auditioning, organizing costumes, building props and working as a team to put on a show. This is a great challenge for dedicated dancers or new to dance performers. The crew will meet weekly for 8 weeks, 2 in class dress rehearsals on Friday June, 5 & 12, 1 on stage dress rehearsal Friday, June 19 in addition to the Dance Recital. Wear comfortable form-fitted clothing, ballet/tap/jazz shoes. All rehearsals are held at Winfield Park District’s Recreation Center.

DANCE PARTIES
Dance Parties are a condensed 1 day session of dance technique, movement games, crafts, a mini-performance and much more! Participants of all levels are encouraged to get involved through these camp-style classes that are designed to help participants fill their evening with fun, educational, and movement oriented programming. Wear comfortable form-fitted clothing, dance shoes or bare feet. Feel free to dress to match the theme too! Please bring a water bottle.

Snowflake Spectacular Dance Party 3-8yrs
Bundle up for some wintery fun! Snow princess, snowball fights and shimmery snowflakes galore! Ballet dance technique, movement games, crafts and choreography to Frozen music included.

Animal Action Dance Party 3-8y
Lions, Tigers, Bears, OH MY! Let’s visit the zoo for some dance adventures. Jazz dance technique, movement games, crafts and choreography to Zootopia music included.

Huntrix K-Pop Dance Party 3-8yrs
It is time to dance like the Huntrix girls! Hip Hop and Jazz technique, movement games, crafts and choreography to K-Pop Demon Hunter music included.
There will be no classes on 3/23, 3/30, &5/25 for the following classes Dance I, Dance III, Dance IV.
There will be no classes on 3/26, & 4/2 for the following classes Dance II, Dance IV.

Join us for a non-competitive, skill-development program. We will go over the basic skills of dribbling, passing, shooting, goalkeeping, and positions. There will be weekly progress on the technical aspects of the game. Our speed and agility training is built to make our participants faster, stronger, and more agile athletes. No experience no problem. Participants will have step by step instructions to create fun work of art. This social, interactive, and memorable painting class will bring out your inner Van Gogh. Bring your own favorite beverage and we will supply you with all materials needed to create your master piece. Each class will have a different theme inspired by the month.

Parents can take a night off and enjoy a few hours of free time to relax, shop or do something without the kids. Kids will have fun playing games, creating crafts, and enjoying a pizza dinner and dessert. Fee is $28 for the first child and $13 for each additional child. Pair this program with the adult programs below and enjoy an adult night out.

Seasonal Classes
The seasonal classes invite participants to engage in condensed sessions as a way to experiment, explore or jump-start their involvement in the park studio dance program. All classes are held at the Medinah Park District. In the event of inclement weather or Covid-19 shut downs classes will be held virtually on Zoom.

Dance I (3-6y, Preschool-Kindergarten)

Dance IV summer session is a condensed version of our school year session. We will use the summer month for targeted strength and conditioning and then explore different dance styles including Ballet, Jazz, Tap technique as well as Hip Hop, Contemporary and Improv. This is the perfect class for older dancers looking to excel in dance in a well rounded way. Please wear leotard, tights, or comfortable form fitted clothing, ballet, tap & jazz shoes.

DANCE PARTIES, SUMMER CAMPS & WORKSHOPS
Dance Parties are 1 day sessions dance technique, movement games, crafts, a mini-performance and much more! Participants of all levels are encouraged to get involved through these camp-style classes that are designed to help participants fill their evening with fun, educational, and movement oriented programming. Wear comfortable form-fitted clothing, dance shoes or bare feet. Feel free to dress to match the theme too! Please bring a water bottle. All dance parties, summer camps and workshops held at Medinah Park District.

Jazz dance technique, movement games, crafts and choreography to a 4th of July theme!

Royal Dance Party
Ballet dance technique, movement games, and choreography to prince & princess theme!

Tropical Vacation Dance Party
Ballet & Jazz dance technique, movement games, and choreography to a beachy/mermaid theme!

Descendants Dance Party
Jazz & Hip Hop dance technique, movement games, and choreography to a Descendants theme!

PERFORMANCE GROUPS
Dance Performance groups are designed for our current dancers to explore added performance opportunities and experience a dance team atmosphere. All dancers in the performance group must be enrolled in a weekly foundational technique class. Rehearsals include team bonding and learning/practicing choreography.

MPD Company Summer Auditions & Rehearsals
Auditions for the 2026-2027 Company will be held on Thursday, 6/11 from 6:00-8:00pm. All dancers 8+ are welcome to attend the free auditions. Audtionees will learn choreography and be tested on skills. Company members will rehearse 4 times in the summer months and learn a summer route that will be performed in the 2026-2027 season. Summer Company Rehearsal tuition only covers the summer months and company members will be expected to register for the 2026-2027 season during the Fall 2026 session. The Performing Company provides dedicated dancers the opportunity to study Ballet, Tap, Hip Hop, Musical Theatre, Lyrical and Jazz more in depth. This performing group is a year-round commitment. Our focus will be creating, leading, and guiding dancers on a disciplined and rewarding path that will instill the fundamentals of dance. Company members are required to take 1 foundational technique class the entire season in addition to company rehearsal. Rehearsal & Performance Schedule will be available at the first fall class. Some rehearsals and performances will be during times outside of regularly scheduled rehearsal time. No audition necessary. All experience levels are welcome. Please wear leotard, tights or comfortable form fitted clothing. Dancers will also need skin toned jazz shoes. Please contact Lora@innovationartsconnection for details on the Dance Company.

Bond and create a meal with your child and leave the prep to us. Chef Amy teaches a different recipe each week. Participants see, smell, taste, ask questions about, and learn the background of food. Bring a container for leftovers. All long hair must be tied up. Price is per couple.

Bring out your inner chef by creating and sampling the goodies you prepare during these one-day cooking classes. Children will bond and create delicious meals each class. Chef Amy teaches a different recipe each class. Deadlines for each class are three days prior to the program's start. All loose hair must be tied up. You can bring containers for possible leftovers.

Come join Glitzy Girlz staff (glitzygirlz.com) and head to Hawaii before school starts!
Our staff will be glamming up the girls with hair flower, make-up sparkle and pretty nail polish application complete with flower nail stickers. They will decorate a craft with paints, stencils and flower embellishments/jewels. They will also design a fun beaded bracelet with Hawaiian charms. Each participant will receive a take home outfit of a flower lei and a flowered hawaiian skirt for photos at our Palm Tree Backdrop and props. The class ends with Maraca Freeze Dance and Limbo line! Come vacay with friends!
DROP OFF CLASS ONLY- No Parents- the younger ages must be independent

Let your imagination transform your Minecraft experience into a unique world YOU create! Students will discover how to expand their worlds' possibilities using popular game-enhancing mods. Build traps, arrow launchers, faster rail systems and more & participate in building challenges! Learn fundamentals of computer networking through this unique Minecraft experience that also allows you and your friends to work in multiplayer mode as you mine, craft and build together to survive. Chess Wizards is a premier chess education company providing fun, informative and challenging chess lessons to students. Chess Wizards teaches children many important life concepts, such as learning the ability to win graciously and accept defeat with dignity and sportsmanship. Students will be divided into groups according to their chess experience. At the end of this session, each student will have had the chance to participate in a mini-chess tournament.

In this introductory camp, Junior Lifeguards will learn basic safety skills, practice aquatic rescues, and participate in interactive drills run by The Oasis’s own Head Lifeguards. Participants will learn the importance of water safety, leadership skills, and teamwork. They’ll even have a chance to win some Oasis merch! Prerequisite: Be able to swim continuously 50 yards (2 pool lengths) and can tread water for one minute using arms and legs. Class attire: Swim trunks, workout/athletic bikinis or one piece only. This camp does NOT certify participants for professional lifeguarding.
